High quality hard landscaping and environmental improvements including a digitally animated water jet feature, a huge sunken event space, distinctive feature lighting, and a new carriageway construction in natural granite, comprising approximately 2,000m of granite kerbs, 6,000m² of Caithness and 3,000m² of granite paving. The existing traffic routing through the square was changed to create an enhanced pedestrian space serviced by a new bus priority route. The works incorporated mature tree planting, bespoke furniture with seating, and provides an award winning environment and multi use public space that has already hosted a number of high profile events and interactive activities.
