Caisson Rings used in Hilton Hotel Pumping Station

FP McCann is working closely with Martin Contracting Services, a family run business with over 40 years experience in the N.Ireland civil engineering industry. The company is currently constructing a pumping station at the Hilton Hotel Templepatrick, with FP McCann supplying the precast concrete caisson rings used for the shaft build that will house the pump.

Pumping stations are used for the collection and pumping of liquids to include surface water, wastewater or sewage from areas where drainage by gravity is not possible.  The 3.6 meter diameter bespoke caisson ring’s each weighing 6 tonne, have the ability to be progressively sunk into the ground under their own weight or with the aid of hydraulic caisson jacks and a metal cutter ring.  Once completed the shaft will stand at 6 meters in height and will be hidden beneath the ground surface. 

The 3.6m caissons are the first to be produced from FP McCann’s Knockloughrim precast plant and were accompanied to site with a full company escort due to the size of the loads being delivered.
