FP McCann is pleased to announce that it has won the Industrial category at Trimble’s UK Tekla Awards 2017, after being recognised for its innovative use of Tekla Structures for the Dirft 3 - Plot 1 project (dock leveller pit system).
The Tekla Awards focuses on projects of all shapes and sizes, which have used Trimble’s Tekla Structures as part of the process for designing and modelling projects.
The entries submitted into the Industrial category were judged on complexity, attention to detail, disciplines used, innovation, impressiveness of structure and the amount of Tekla software used.
Managing director at Trimble Solutions (UK) Ltd, Richard Fletcher said: “This model scored highly for its attention to detail. The highly detailed concrete elements showed all embedment and reinforcement to drive fabrication, which is why it’s our winner.”
Colin MacKenzie, Senior Technician at FP McCann said: “We are absolutely delighted to have won this bigger category in this year’s Tekla Awards, as last year we won the Small projects category. We wanted to show what we were developing and we’re really proud of the project. Tekla software is the upmost software out there for BIM and we are using it more and more on our projects.”
