TESTS CARRIED OUT |
| |
All pipes and manholes are manufactured in accordance with BSEN 1916:2002 and BSEN 1917:2002 and complimentary standards. |
| |
| |
HYDROSTATIC TEST |
| |
Flexible jointed pipes must withstand an internal hydrostatic pressure of 0.5 bar for 15 minutes without any signs of leakage. |
| |
| |
| |
LOAD TEST |
| |
All pipe products are tested to the appropriate proof or crushing strength requirement specified in BSEN 1916:2002. |
| |
| |
BENDING MOMENT RESISTANCE (BMR TEST) |
| |
Pipes up to and including DN 250 with an effective length greater than 6 times the external diameter. |
| |
| |
| |
JOINT TYPE TESTS |
| |
Completing deflection, and shear tests proves the water tightness of flexible joints. These are carried out at an internal hydrostatic pressure of 5 bar for a period of 15 minutes without any sign of leakage. |
| |
| |
| |
ANCHORAGE PULL-OUT TEST |
| |
Type tests for pull load on cast-in steel anchorages are carried out. The test applies a load of 2.5 times the weight of the pipe to each anchorage without vibration or sudden shock. |
| |
| |
| |
OTHER TESTS |
| |
Among other tests carried out are, Depth of cover to reinforcement, water absorption, Permissible deviation from straightness, and various product finish checks as required by the British and European Standards. |
